‍CityPickle was thrilled to host Gerry Turner, better known as “the Golden Bachelor,” for some court time and his interview with NYMag’s Vulture. Gerry demonstrated his pickleball prowess - earned by playing ten hours a week - and discussed his turn on the hit Bachelor franchise.

The Golden Bachelor charmed at CityPickle Long Island City. He impressed our Director of Community Outreach and USA Pickleball NYC District Ambassador Katherine Hedden: “Gerry was kind and outgoing and tried to fool me with his slice shots. He was pleasantly surprised when I was able to return them - with top spin! He said ‘hi’ to the wider CityPickle team on a Zoom call. We shared some great laughs.”

We spoke with former Bachelor commentator and pickleball enthusiast Brett Vergara, who opines, “Out of all the romantic helicopter or skydiving dates they’ve put contestants through in the Bachelor franchise, the Golden Bachelor pickleball group date was by far the most jealous I’ve been watching the show.”
