Meet Coach Elana Bush

If you’ve been to any of our CityPickle locations, chances are you’ve seen Elana Bush, especially at Times Square! Elana is known not only for her amazing tips and tricks on the court, but also for her authentic, high-spirited personality and ability to command the room (or court ;)).

Whether you’re looking to learn to play, sharpen your skills, or take your game to the next level, Elana brings energy and expertise to everything she does. She offers private lessons and individualized coaching, as well as instructional clinics for all levels, including Introductory Clinics, Beginner+ Clinics, and Intermediate Clinics. You can also find Elana leading Coached Open Play, Camps, and more—making it easy and fun to find the right fit for your pickleball journey.

How long have you been coaching pickleball?

I’ve been coaching since April 2025. After getting laid off from my corporate job, coaching was supposed to be a temporary gig while I figured out what was next. Turns out, I loved it way too much to leave.

What do you love most about coaching at CityPickle?

My favorite part about coaching is getting to see my students improve over time. Watching things start to click and seeing them get more confident on the court is honestly the most rewarding feeling.

Advice for someone looking to improve their game?

Dedicate time to actually drilling the specific things you want to get better at. Even just a couple hours a week getting consistent reps in can make a huge difference. The more you drill a shot, the more you build that muscle memory so you don’t have to think about it when you’re in a game.

Where can we find you outside the pickleball court? (i.e. walking my dog in central park/at the gym/etc.)

When I’m not on the pickleball court, I’m bopping around the city trying new restaurants or hanging with my dog Champ.
