Meet Our Summer Camp Coaches
Elana Bush
Times Square Lead
Elana was an instrumental part of our Long Island City summer camps in 2025, coaching more than 150 hours across two months and working with players of all ages and skill levels. Whether your child is picking up a paddle for the first time or looking to take their game to the next level, Elana creates a fun, supportive environment where every camper can learn, improve, and build confidence on the court.
Alonso Gerbaud
Long Island City Lead
Alonso has been with CityPickle from the beginning, helping lead our first summer camps at Wollman Rink in 2024. Since then, he has become a key part of our coaching team, specializing in youth development. He also leads our Long Island City after-school program, helping kids build skills, confidence, and a love for the game. His motto is simple: have fun while learning.
David Harris
Wollman Rink Lead
David brings a strong athletic background to CityPickle. A former collegiate lacrosse player, he continues to work with high school athletes, helping them build skills, confidence, and a competitive mindset. He has coached across CityPickle summer camps, holiday camps, and Kids Academy programs, creating a fun, supportive environment where campers can learn, improve, and enjoy the game.
Neil Press
Times Square Lead
Neil has been with CityPickle since 2024 and was an integral part of our Long Island City camps in 2025. He creates a fun, positive environment where kids feel comfortable trying new things, staying active, and building confidence on the court. Neil is excited to bring his energetic coaching style to Times Square and help campers create lasting memories while having fun all summer long.
James Cannizzaro
Long Island City Lead
James brings energy, patience, and a passion for helping young players grow both on and off the court. As a high-level pickleball coach, he creates a fun, encouraging environment where kids can build confidence, develop strong fundamentals, and discover a love for the game. His coaching motto is simple: work hard, have fun, and get a little better every day.
Ben Carr
Camp Counselor
Ben joins CityPickle this summer to help run camps at Times Square, Wollman Rink, and Long Island City. A former high school varsity multi-sport athlete, Ben finished his freshman year of college at Harvard, where he competed with the Harvard Pickleball Club. He’s excited to help campers of all levels love the game and build their skills.

What ages are eligible to participate?

Do campers need prior experience?
Nope! Campers will be leveled by age and skill level.

What are the camp hours?
Half Day: 9am-12pm (Morning) or 1pm-4pm (Afternoon)
Full Day: 9am-4pm

What is a typical day like?
Activities include skill instruction, drills, games, and supervised free play. Snack and lunch breaks are included for full-day campers.

Do camps run rain or shine?
Yes. In the event of inclement weather, activities may be modified or moved indoors to ensure safety.

Who are the coaches?
Camps are led by CityPickle certified coaches with experience in youth instruction and sports safety.

What should my child bring?
Comfortable athletic clothing, sneakers, water bottle, sunscreen (Wollman Rink), and any personal items (lunch for full-day campers).

Are meals/snacks provided?
Snacks are provided for both half-day and full-day camps.

Can I drop off or pick up early/late?
Early drop-off and late pick-up options are not available.

Do you offer sibling or multi-session discounts?
No. The only discounts offered are for members at Long Island City and Times Square.

Cancellations made within one week are subject to full charge.
