Father’s Day Spotlight: Coach Dylan

Written by CityPickle | June 17, 2026

Fatherhood is a journey filled with unexpected lessons, unforgettable moments, and a whole new kind of purpose. This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the dads in our community who lead both at home and on the court.

Spotlighting: Coach Dylan, Head Coach of Times Square, who recently stepped into one of his most important roles yet: becoming a new dad. Known for his energy, charisma, ability to inspire players to push beyond their limits, and tattoos ;),

Dylan is now bringing those same qualities to fatherhood as he navigates the joys and balance of raising his one month old daughter, Kaya. We asked Dylan some questions about this journey:

What has been your favorite part of fatherhood so far?

You know, it’s hard to explain, but seeing yourself in this pure little baby and having unconditional love for someone you just met is such a special feeling.

How have you balanced being a pickleball coach and full-time father?

That’s probably been the biggest challenge. I still manage to coach and play pickleball, but when I get home, the second job starts. The biggest thing is getting sleep at night. My wife is the true hero because I’ve been sleeping seven hours!

What has becoming a dad made you realize about your own dad?

It really made me realize all the sacrifices my dad made, along with being so present, like taking me to all the sport games on the weekend. It is really inspiring to me and that’s what I want to do for my daughter. I want to be there for her and support her in all aspects of life.

Would you like your daughter to play pickleball?

DEFINITELY. We’re going to get a paddle in her hand as soon as possible… like next month.

I’ll definitely enroll her in the future in our CityPickle Kids Summer Camp! ;)

Is there a pickleball player that is also a father that inspires you?

Honestly, athletes in general are able to balance fatherhood and still playing sports. I look up to anyone who can balance both.
